Privacy Policy
Malgyeol (Daily Word) · Effective: July 3, 2026
1. Overview
Malgyeol (Daily Word, "the App") is a Christian devotional app operated by Whatever Works Studio that lets you reflect on a daily verse of Scripture and collect the passages you cherish. The App runs anonymously without any sign-in or account registration, and it does not collect personally identifying information such as your name, email, or phone number. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects and how it is used.
2. Information We Collect
To improve the service, the App collects the following anonymous data via Google Firebase Analytics. This data is not linked to you personally (Not Linked) and is not linked to any account.
2.1 Usage Statistics (Anonymous)
- What: Product-interaction data such as screen views and feature-usage events
- Purpose: To improve service quality and analyze usage patterns
- How: Collected anonymously via Firebase Analytics
2.2 Device Identifier and Device Information
- What: The Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) and device information (model, OS version, language)
- Purpose: To aggregate and analyze usage data anonymously
- How: The App uses only the IDFV — not the advertising identifier (IDFA) — so it is not subject to App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission requests.
3. What We Do Not Collect
- The App does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not perform App Tracking Transparency (ATT) tracking.
- The App does not perform advertising or cross-app / cross-website tracking.
- The App does not collect personally identifying information such as name, email, or contacts, and does not create an account.
- The App does not sell collected data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services (Data Processors)
The App uses the following external service, which is governed by its own privacy policy:
| Service | Provider | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics | Google LLC | Anonymous usage statistics and analysis | Anonymized usage events, device identifier (IDFV), device information (model / OS / language) |
Anonymous usage data is processed by Google LLC (Firebase). The App has no server or backend of its own, does not sell any data, and does not provide data to third parties except as required by law.
External service privacy policy:
5. Data Stored on Your Device
App settings and usage history — including the verses you save, your topics of interest, notification times, and streak records — are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to any external server. Because the App has no backend server, this data is deleted along with the App when you uninstall it.
6. Notifications
Daily-verse notifications (including morning and early-dawn options) operate solely as on-device local notifications. The App does not use server push (remote notifications).
7. Content Source
The App's scripture text uses the Korean Revised Version (개역한글판, 1961). This translation is a public-domain work whose economic copyright term has expired; the text is presented unaltered, with its source (book, chapter, and verse) cited.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
- The only data the App collects is anonymous usage data, which does not identify you and is not linked to any account.
- Settings and usage history stored on your device are deleted when you uninstall the App.
- Anonymous data collected via Firebase Analytics is handled in accordance with Google's data retention policies.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App collects no personally identifying information, no personal information from children is collected either.
10. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the changes will be announced through an App update or this page.
